银川市是宁夏回族自治区首府，全区政治、经济、文化、信息中心。辖三区（兴庆、金风、西夏）、两县（永宁、贺兰）、一市（灵武），总面积9527平方公里，其中建成区面积107平方公里，人口约150万。
银川市历史上曾是西夏国都，是中国历史文化名城之一。“塞上江南、西夏古都、回族风情”三大特色为银川增添了诱人的光彩。

Yinchuan is the capital city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It has governed three districts (Xingqing, Jinfeng and Xixia), two counties (Yongning and Helan) and one city(Lingwu), with a total land area of 9,527 km2, the current urban area is 107 km2 . Yinchuan has a total population of 1.5 million.
Yinchuan, the capital of Xixia Kingdom in history, is a famous historical and cultural city. The beautiful southern-typed landscape, the ancient capital of Xixia Kingdom and the unique Hui customs characterize Yinchuan with much attraction.
